To turn a dream into a successful
book you need five things:
- A Vision for your book which
gives you a
clear sense of purpose, freeing up the creative energy you need to get
your book written.
- A Purpose Statement. A book needs a
clear purpose, a short statement - 10 words or less - that act as a
guide and grounding for the whole project.
- A Plan To Get It Done. Although
books don't necessarily get written front to back (did you know that?),
you still need a plan to get it done. This often starts with a
working table of contents so you can chunk down the writing into
manageable bits. From there it becomes, in some ways, a matter of
filling in the details.
- Know-how. While writing
a book isn't rocket science, it does require a certain art. That art
consists of your individual style, knowing the reader, and the ability to keep track of
the whole project while working on the individual pieces. There are
things that work when writing a book and things that don't - far better
you know what works.
- Support that Works for You.
Support comes in all sorts of flavors. The support you need for your
book is a combination of compassionate listening, gentle truth telling
and information about the book writing process delivered in
understandable and doable chunks.
While you may have a sense on all five,
you may be missing an integrated way to use all five to
actually get your book written. Writing a book is a big project and it's
easy to get overwhelmed and confused with all the details. So how does
this all hang together?
A Vision, clarity of purpose, a plan, know-how and support is what's called:
Writing With Vision
Writing With Vision is the process of bringing your book
project to life, with vitality, enthusiasm and clarity so it's
complete in a way that truly communicates your dream.
Writing With Vision combines the clarity, planning, know-how
and support in the form of either ghostwriting or coaching
or teleclasses that move your book forward in a reasonably ordered fashion, gets you
over any bumps in the road, and brings your book into physical reality so
readers can share your dream.
Writing With Vision changes
the game entirely. One client
was struggling to finish a book she'd started. After working with the five
pieces of Writing With Vision, she was able to complete her book and begin
to market it.
Another client had a wonderful idea he wanted to share with the world,
but had gotten bogged down, hating the writing and having no clue how to
organize it. Once again, working with the five elements of Writing With
Vision, his dream is out in the world in book form and people are
responding to it in a positive fashion.
